Helping Army Members With Out-Processing

Leaving Army life behind and becoming a civilian once again can truly be an intimidating experience. Forget that CO that you never felt liked you; it is time to refocus on "the life outside" where you can choose to wear camo only if you are feeling nostalgic. Army out-processing is the next step in wrapping up your military career and bidding a fond farewell to your responsibilities in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The out-process should be relatively painless, though wrought with anticipation; the paperwork is as simple as answering the appropriate questions and providing any necessary factual information, and will only require a little bit of legwork and pencil pushing at your local post-processing facility. (Be sure to check your post's website for new and pertinent information the closer you get to out-processing.) You'll need to return all issued equipment, be checked out of all necessary departments and get a quick sign-off on your physical health. Then it's Welcome to Civilianville!
Considering Your Next Move After the ArmyUndoubtedly you were approached at some point towards the end of your tour and asked if you had ever considered the Army as a career. If your answer was no, have you really considered what your next move will be? You may want to float for a while and see some new things, but unless you are leaving the military in retirement, there's still work to be done. If you don't want to continue living the Army life, and you have the ability to move on, then it's time to do so. Don't let the fear of the unknown put you into a pattern of taking the path of least resistance! And along those lines, if you do have an interest in the Army or another military branch as a career, it's definitely a thought worth exploring.
PostMilitary.com is here to help you adjust and make the transition. Whether you want to go to school, learn about some career options, choose a new career, move across the country to work and set some long-term career goals or start your own business, we want to help.
