Education | Military Friendly Schools

Once you've picked a degree to match your career, the next step is to shop around for the best military friendly school.

There are several factors to take into account when choosing a military friendly school. You should research the available degree options, the school's policy when it comes to awarding credit by exam, military experience credits, accreditation, and the cost of tuition.

Many military friendly schools offer the following to military personnel:
-When allowed by state and university regulations, they will waive the application fee for military personnel who have been on active duty within three years of applying.
-Current and former military personnel receive full consideration for scholarships and grants.

Once you've found the military friendly school of your choice, put your military benefits to use and pay for your education. Military personnel may be eligible for some or all of these military educational benefits: military tuition assistance, the Montgomery GI Bill, scholarships, state tuition assistance or federal loans and grants.

Military tuition assistance is offered by all branches of the service to support the educational goals of the United States' servicemen and women. Military tuition assistance could cover up to 100 percent of your educational expenses. Each branch of the military has its own requirements for tuition assistance.

Many colleges are considered military friendly schools; the trick is to find the one that offers exactly what you need. Once you've chosen your school, an admissions counselor will contact you either by phone or through email. The best way to determine if a military friendly school is right for you is to ask the right questions so do your research and be prepared.
