Online Distance Learning Degree Programs From American Military University

American Military University is proud to be one of the latest universities to join the Servicemember Opportunity Colleges (SOC) degree network system. The SOC is a consortium of colleges and universities designed to ease the education path of U.S servicemen and women towards their degrees. American Military University (AMU) is part of the American Public University System (APUS).
How The SOC Works With AMUAMU can now serve as one of the SOC “home” colleges, meaning that military members can use AMU as their base school. When the servicemember is transferred to another location, they can take courses at a different SOC school in order to continue meeting their degree requirements. These credits are automatically transferred back to the home school for this purpose.
AMU SOC Degree ProgramsThrough the SOC and AMU, students can earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or management, or a Bachelor of Business Administration. Under the SOC Auxiliary Degree Network, students can also earn bachelor's degrees in homeland security or intelligence studies. These degrees can help a great deal in the servicemember’s transition to civilian life by expanding job prospects and career opportunities. Students may also be eligible for considerable tuition assistance for their service in the U.S. armed forces.
Online Education Through AMUAnother educational option that military personnel can avail themselves of through AMU is an online distance learning program. AMU has online programs in over 50 areas, including criminal justice, homeland security, education, sports and health science, information technology and national security. Students can earn associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees and even master's degrees. Online education can be an ideal choice for military personnel since they can take classes and earn credits from their home computers, allowing them to design their curriculum around a military schedule that may put considerable demands on their time.
