Dedicating yourself to active service in the military is an incredible sacrifice. It's one of the most selfless acts that one can undertake, but this act of selflessness sometimes comes at a price. Being removed from your spouse and/or family for long periods of time can put a strain on your family relationships. No matter what branch of the military you serve under, there are resources available that will help you deal with strain of spousal and familial separation. The OneSource Network is one of the most useful and accessible resources at your disposal.

What Is the OneSource Network?

According to the Military OneSource Network website (www.militaryonesource.com), the OneSource Network "provide help with parenting and child care, education, relocation, financial and legal concerns, everyday issues (finding services in a local community, consumer issues), emotional well-being, health and fitness, addiction and recovery, adult or child special needs, military life (pre/post deployment, reunion, etc.), work concerns, crisis support, elder care, TRICARE, and much more."

OneSource Network Availability

The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days week to active duty members from every branch of the military. Members of the Army Reserve, National Guard and families of active duty military personnel all have access to the service. You can contact the network by visiting the website or calling (800) 342-9647. Face-to-face counseling services are also available, but these services are limited to the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
