Military and veteran benefits can vary by state. Benefits can be different by state as each sate manages their own benefit program. In order to find out what benefits you specifically qualify for, you should contact your own specific state department of veteran affair's office. Some of the benefits include tax and fee discounts or exclusions, education scholarships and grants, home loan breaks and free fishing and hunting allowances.

Benefits by state:

Many states will grant certain tax breaks for property taxes if you make a certain income per year. Some benefits by state also include housing benefits. This means that you might be able to get a home and loan with no down payment requirements, a VA home loan. State benefits also include motor vehicle privileges. This means that some states may waive the motor vehicle registration and plate fees as you are a veteran and reside in that state. Furthermore, you may be eligible to receive free fishing or hunting licenses or your license fees could be reduced due to state benefits.
